I have been involved with Habitat for Humanity in different capacities since I started at Northeastern University in the Spring of 2008. I spent a lot of time building with Habitat for Humanity of Greater Plymouth, went on Spring Break Habitat trips to Indiana and Kentucky, and now I build occasionally with Habitat for Humanity of Coastal Fairfield County.

Volunteering with Habitat has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my life. Obviously, giving time to people in need is rewarding on its own, but Habitat also gives volunteers a chance to learn new skills and help themselves. Everyone I've ever met who has been associated with Habitat has been nice, cheerful, and giving, even when being subjected to some of the extreme conditions in which you can end up building. Finally, meeting and working alongside the people who will be living in the house you are building is incredibly rewarding.
